Comparative Psychology is the scientific study of behavioral characteristics of animals, excluding Homo sapiens. Unlike other disciplines in Psychology, Comparative Psychology/ Counseling are specialized on Phylogenetic history, Adaptive significance and Developmental behavior of animals. Comparative Counseling studies individual behavior, Reproductive behavior and Social behavior as its primary fields of research in animals.
